In our ‘Behind the brand’ series, we’re going to hear from some of these makers and creators, starting with our first ever supplier, Jen Beby, who runs vegan fragrance and lifestyle brand Join, from their South East London studio. They've been going from strength to strength since 2016 and are one of our most popular gift choices.
Jen: A sense of purpose and achievement. With experience in brand, sales and management, I was tired of the lack of consideration for the environment and wanted to create a creative company focused on good old fashioned customer service. I love working with all types of people and businesses. We have met some truly amazing people in the last two years, it's all about collaboration.
Jen: Ensuring our business ethos and product range is vegan, 100% natural and sustainable is what makes us tick at Join. We pride ourselves on using the finest, plant based organic ingredients and recyclable packaging.
Jen: Start small and focus on the good things. Recognise your core strengths and build on them, whatever the weather.
Jen: Join is inspired by the Cornish coast and countryside where I grew up. From long beach walks to foraging in the woods, I've learnt all I know about plants and nature from my Mum. Now, I try to take regular inspiration from the nature we are so lucky to be surrounded by in the UK.
Jen: We have a loyal customer base who enjoy the therapeutic benefits of Hedgerow, Pebble and High Tide - each is totally different.
Jen: Our goal is to encourage consumers to 'shop green' one fragrance at a time! We plan to expand our range of vegan home products and add new bath and body lines, while looking after our amazing stockists.
Jen: Join is currently a side-hustle so it is a balancing act with full time careers and families. Your business can become your personal life at times, so enjoy it! Our proudest moment is hitting the 2 year mark, nearly!
Jen: A good watch (set ten minutes early) from my partner, Nick.
Jen: Fresh air, a vegetarian roast and a new dog collar for Bambi's Christmas day walk, our ever faithful rescue lurcher.
